About us
Funded by the Federal Department of Health and Aged Care, the Parent Well is a collaboration between Transitioning Well and COPE (Centre of Perinatal Excellence). It is the product of months of consultation, research and feedback across the small business and perinatal mental health and wellbeing communities. This valuable resource builds on the success of the Victorian-based Perinatal Workplace Wellbeing Program (PWWP), funded by WorkSafe Victoria's WorkWell Mental Health Improvement Fund, to deliver a free online platform to support small business owners and their employees through the perinatal period.
The aim of the program is to help business owners to provide a working environment that impacts positively on the mental health and wellbeing of new and expectant parents in their workplace, and to support business owners who are themselves preparing to welcome a new baby. The program also provides resources directly to parents to support their mental health and wellbeing during this important life-work transition.
Working with the hairdressing, pharmacy and accounting industries, we are building a comprehensive workplace support package. The program delivers resources in a variety of formats (articles, video explainers, interactive conversation simulators, templates, checklists, legal guides) focused on knowledge, awareness and skills in supporting fathers and mothers throughout the perinatal period (the period from conception or adoption through to baby’s first birthday).
We are proud to be partnering with COPE to build this program, and for the valuable contributions of COSBOA, Australian Hairdressing Council, CPA Australia, Pharmacy Guild of Australia and the Pharmacists' Support Services.
