The time before and after a baby's birth can have its ups and downs - there's a lot going on! Watch this video to understand more about what's happening around this time, and to see how the workplace can help.
Think about flexibility
Remember, flexibility doesn’t just mean part-time. There are so many ways you can use flexibility to help keep things ticking away at home and work. You might be able to use it to do things like be home for baby’s bathtime/dinner, or to start later so your partner can sleep in.
It can feel hard to ask for flexibility. That feeling is normal. But it’s always a good idea to ask, not assume. You just may be surprise at the response you get!
Start thinking about where you can get help when you need it
It’s not always easy to ask for help, but you just might need it. Now that baby has arrived, it’s good to think about where you’ll get support when you need it. Jotting this down can free up some of the mental load, and is something you can do with your partner, so you’re both acknowledging where you might need help. If you’ve registered, we’ll send you a free template to help you get started.
Remember to think about where you might get your own support in the form of social catch ups, or time for yourself.
